The Rail Profile Grinder (also known as Precision Grinder) is a small-sized professional internal combustion tool, specifically designed for profiling grinding of rail heads after rail welding and rail damage repair welding. As a high-performance Rail Profile Grinder, it is suitable for grinding operations of various types of rails (43-75kg/m) in both base and on-site environments after welding and rail head repair welding. Equipped with additional auxiliary devices, this Rail Profile Grinder can also perform flat grinding and wave wear grinding, making it an ideal tool for ultra-long seamless track laying, rail break repair and stress relief.

3. Working Principle of Rail Profile Grinder

When the Rail Profile Grinder is in grinding operation, the gasoline engine drives the transmission shaft to rotate, and the grinding head is driven to rotate at high speed through the transmission device. In the grinding process of the Rail Profile Grinder, turn the feed handwheel of the grinding head to adjust the feed amount, operate the handle to push the Rail Profile Grinder to move longitudinally along the rail to grind the rail tread; at the same time, rotate the frame within the range of 0~90° to grind the rail head fillet and the working edge of the rail. With the joint action of horizontal rollers and guide wheels, the profiling grinding operation of the rail head by the Rail Profile Grinder is completed.

5. Operating Procedures for Rail Profile Grinder

Operation Stage

Specific Requirements

Before Use

1. Fully check the settings of all parts of the Rail Profile Grinder before operation. 2. Do not remove the grinding wheel guard. 3. Protect the grinding wheel from damage and moisture. 4. Confirm that the grinding wheel and grinding wheel guard are installed in the correct position. 5. The allowable linear speed of the grinding wheel used by the machine shall be 50m/s. 6. The grinding wheel can be adjusted manually or by electric control switch, and the height of the grinding wheel can be adjusted up and down. When adjusting with the handwheel, the feed amount of the grinding wheel is 1mm per revolution of the handwheel.

During Use

1. After starting the engine, set the grinding wheel to the required grinding depth through the electric control switch (adjust according to the conditions near the rail in most cases). After adjusting the depth, lock the depth lock nut to prevent loosening during grinding, resulting in excessive grinding. 2. Now raise the grinding wheel until it reaches the highest convex point of the rail. 3. When the Rail Profile Grinder grinds back and forth near the grinding point, use the manual adjustment switch to control the feed amount of the grinding wheel, and the digital display will show the grinding depth value of the grinding wheel in real time. 4. The weight of the Rail Profile Grinder itself is suitable for the pressure required for grinding. 5. When grinding the two sides of the rail, the grinding wheel is automatically pressed against the rail under the action of the spring to ensure the grinding pressure required during grinding. 6. The deflection of the Rail Profile Grinder is adjusted by the frame deflection handwheel.

Shutdown

1. Before shutting down the Rail Profile Grinder, first lift the grinding wheel to a height of more than 3mm above the rail surface. 2. Turn off the Rail Profile Grinder and prevent personnel unfamiliar with the machine from operating it.
